I interviewed Steve Beaulieu, a doctoral student at the University of Maryland, College Park. We discussed Mohsin Hamid's The Reluctant Fundamentalist, focusing on Changez's narratorial unreliability, the ambiguity of the novel's ending, the role of religion, and the importance of 9/11 and critique to the novel's generic classification.
